Analytical Writing comes first. Verbal and Quantitative sections can appear in either order afterwards.
GRE EXAM GUIDE
Know the format.
Prepare with perspective.
The shorter GRE General Test combines Analytical Writing with two Verbal and two Quantitative sections. This guide describes the standard format; ETS controls the current rules and accommodations.
| Area | Format | Timing / allocation |
|---|---|---|
| Analytical Writing | One issue-writing task | 30 minutes |
| Verbal · section 1 | 12 questions | 18 minutes |
| Verbal · section 2 | 15 questions | 23 minutes |
| Quantitative · section 1 | 12 questions | 21 minutes |
| Quantitative · section 2 | 15 questions | 26 minutes |
The standard overall test length is approximately 1 hour 58 minutes. You may navigate and revise within a section.
ETS reports Verbal and Quantitative scores separately from 130–170, and Analytical Writing from 0–6. The 340 in our name is a preparation aspiration, not a promised result.
Our launch sampler is fixed, not section-adaptive. Raw sample results are not official GRE scaled scores. Writing guidance is unscored and does not imitate ETS scoring.
The sample experience does not reproduce every official question type, adaptive rule, accommodation, calculator or scoring method. Refer to the examination authority before booking or planning test-day arrangements.
